Idli Uppma

ORIGIN:

"Idli Uppma" is a typical south indian dish found out when the idli flour becomes sour and usable.Its a modern tamilian dish .Since idlis cannot be directly used when the idli flour becomes very sour,Uppma is made out of idli which makes it tastier.

INGREDIENTS

Idli - 10

Onion - 1

Green Chillis - 4

Curry Leaves - 2 tsps.

Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.

Black gram dhal - 1 tsp.

Salt - 3/4 tsp.

Oil - 4tsps.

PROCEDURE

Step 1:First of all ,cut the idlis into very small pieces with a knife.

Step 2:Then,heat oil in a frying pan and add mustard seeds ,Black gram dhal ,curry leaves ,chopped green chillies to it and wait until the mustard sputters.

Step 3:Then ,chop the onions into small pieces and add these to the pan.

Step 4:Fry till the onions turn golden brown.

Step 5:Add salt to the pan and fry for a minute.

Step 6:Now,add the sliced idlis into the same pan and mix well for 3 minutes.

Step 7:Remove from heat.

Step 8:Serve hot with chutneys or sugar.

NOTE:

*Please use the ingredients in the above mentioned quantity only.

*Do not heat the frying pan on high flame.
