Mysore Paakh

ORIGIN:

"Mysore Paakh" is a popular south indian sweet prepared on festive days like diwali and its main ingredient is bengal gram and ghee .Therfore,its rich in fat and protein.It exists from the nineteenth century.It is the most difficult dish to prepare.

INGREDIENTS

Bengal gram dhal flour - 1 cup.

Sugar - 2 1/2 cups.

Ghee - 2 1/2 cups.

Water - 2 cups.

PROCEDURE

Step 1:Fry the bengal gram flour dry in a frying pan for 5 minutes and keep it aside.

Step 2:Add sugar and water to another pan and boil for minutes.

Step 3:Now,mix ghee with the fried bengal gram flour and mix this with sugar water and boil this mixture for 15 minutes.

Step 4:Keep on mixing while the above mixture is boiling.

Step 5:Now pour the boiled mixture on a plate and spread well.

Step 6:Allow it to cool to room temperature.

Step 7:Now,use a knife to slice the mixture into pieces.

Serve the pieces.

NOTE:

*Take all the ingredients in the above mentioned quantity only.

*Sufficient amount of ghee is necessary.

*Keep on mixing while on heat .
